In 2018, I resigned from my job.<\/p>

Not because I wasn\u2019t enjoying it anymore.<\/p>

But because I felt it was time.<\/p>

Time to go deeper.
To make space for what truly matters.<\/p>

I\u2019ve been meditating since 2003, and over the years, I\u2019ve done many 10-day retreats with different teachers.<\/p>

But somehow \u2014 deep inside \u2014 I knew it was time for something else.
Deeper. Still(er).<\/p>

Also, because life is temporary.
And we shouldn\u2019t keep postponing what\u2019s essential.<\/p>

So I left. To Mexico. For a 59-day solo silent retreat.<\/p>

No phone. No books. No people.<\/p>

Just silence.
And the restlessness within myself.<\/p>

And somewhere there \u2014 in that emptiness \u2014 something happened.<\/p>

A kind of coming home.
As if I no longer needed to search.<\/p>

There was only presence.
Clarity. Peace.<\/p>

After those two months of silence, I took time to integrate.<\/p>

I stayed in Mexico a bit longer to let everything settle.
And shortly after \u2014 still in 2018 \u2014 I went to Guatemala.<\/p>

For another silent retreat, this time guided. Thirty days.<\/p>

The teacher there read aloud from a book:
B\u00f6npo Dzogchen Teachings \u2013 according to Lop\u00f6n Tenzin Namdak.<\/p>

And I thought: wait a minute\u2026
This is what I experienced in Mexico.<\/p>

That natural state. Still. Open. Intimate with everything.<\/p>

Back in the Netherlands, I immediately bought the book.<\/p>

On the cover: an old Tibetan master \u2014 Lop\u00f6n Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche.<\/p>

I googled his name \u2014 and to my surprise\u2026
He was still alive. And teaching. In France. At 93 years old.<\/p>

A few weeks later, I was sitting next to him in the grass.
Literally. No stage. No distance. Just a master among people.<\/p>

That moment changed my life.
He became my teacher.<\/p>

Fortunately, I was in Kathmandu for his in February 2025 to see him one last time for his 100th birthday.
He passed away on June 12, 2025.<\/p>

100 years old.
After his passing, he remained in Tukdam for eight days \u2014
the deep meditative state of realised masters.<\/p>

I\u2019m not sharing this story out of nostalgia.
But because I believe that what I experienced there \u2014
that silence, that clarity \u2014
also lives within you.<\/p>
